Sell your Timeshare

December 9, 2007 – 12:25 am

Timeshares are located in every vacation resort. You bought one and now you would like to sell yours. Where do you go if you want to sells yours?

The following Timeshare selling/rental sites offer similar avenues for selling your timeshares. They differ only in the amount they charge you for selling your property. Unlike buying or selling a house in the real estate market usually selling your timeshare or renting your timeshare is unlike selling or renting your home. The opportunity provided by the residential real estate market is unique and it has little impact or influence on what goes on in order to sell your timeshare.

All of the following provide you with these features: The format universally is a for sale by owner, and they provide timeshare advertising and vacation rentals. They facilitate and expedite the process of buying and selling a vacation resort. They provide a service where you can rent a time share vacation resort.

1. Timeshare-Resale-Rental

You get exposure worldwide on  the Internet in such a way that thousands, will see the ad and read about it.  You are the real estate broker; typically you are in the selling by owner format and you can offer a competitively price for the timeshare to advertise your by-owner timeshare for sale or rent.  There are no hidden fees from your by-owner marketing company.

What they offer you is a personalized selling experience; you don’t  need an appraisal when you are selling timeshares, nor do you need a big real estate company or a real estate attorney. So your costs are limited to commissions only.

Additionally they have a FAQ page where you can get answers to many different questions about how to do business with them.

2. Vacation Time Share Rentals

Another site that offers you the opportunity to sell your timeshare is VacationTimeShareRentals. It currently lists close to 40,000 postings. There are three different posting opportunities. The first posting is free and expires in a year. You get limited exposure. You pay no commission on sales to members.

The featured listing costs 19.95 per month, 84.99 per year, or 149.99 for an lifetime listing. You receive 100% of the selling or rental price and do not have to share any commission.

3. Time Share auctions

Another way of buying and selling timeshares is with the auction format. This is a relatively new way of buying and selling in this market, but it makes sense. Why not try to get the best price, you may have to compete with another interested buyer, but if there is a minimum reserve that you can satisfy and which is still lower than you could get buying a timeshare directly from a company, you can get a good price.

Likewise if you are selling, you may find many potential buyers and they can outbid one another in trying to find the timeshare of choice.

Their commission is minimal but the exposure is high.
