www.Geek.com is a technology portal that allows you to compare prices in different technology categories. This website allows you to see products, get reviews, compare products, and get information about the latest technology news. They have six tabs on the site, Chips, Mobile, Apple, Games, Gadgets, and Shop.

Chips

The chips tab allows you to see information about various computer chips and their manufacturers. This includes reviews, primers, opinions, and news. For instance, one news item identified how one manufacturer DeviceVM was building a flash chip with the Linux operating system built in. The chip built into the motherboard will give additional functionality to computers for instance to be able to get on line even before the computer is completely on line. They also provide a forum for questions and comments from interested visitors.

Mobile

The mobile tab focuses on mobile technology, laptops, pda’s, cell phones, games, wireless security, Bluetooth, SMS, and WiFi. A section of the page allows you to see mobile products and to compare prices for similarly designed products.

Apple

The Apple tab is designed to bring information to that system that stands distinctively outside of the Intel/Microsoft mainstream. Apple. Gadgets

The gadgets tab provides reviews and opinions about the gadgets that have appeared on the market. You can find information about it in archives.

Shop

The shop tab is where you can review, scan, and order products that you find to your liking. They have areas of computers, cameras, electronics, software, and video games.

They also have laptop buyer’s guide. The guide provides you with specifications for the minimum and recommended hardware that you should consider in order to get the best deal for yourself. The coverage is fairly detailed sparing no category that could potentially impact a buying decision. There are over 24 categories such as warranties, and carrying cases up to processors, memory, and batteries.

The Forum Menu

There are 15 categories available that can provide you with additional detailed information about a variety of topics. Many of the forums deal with the tabs mentioned above, others deals with gaming, but there are others including feedback,  geek support, software soiree, technology, and the parlor.

The parlor is a general open session posting forum about a variety of products and technology. In some ways this is an open forum about complaints but for a more focused discussion about products you should go to the technology forum

At the technology forum discussions about problems and advice about a variety of issues make the day. Many of these discussions will be of interest primarily to geeks because their problems can be address only by other geeks. This makes the forum particularly good as other participants provide the expertise.
